praise god for caring for those in need
The widow had a debt she had no money to pay. She was helpless and could do nothing to change her circumstances on her own. We have a debt that we can never pay on our own. We all have sinned against God and the payment for our sins is death. We cannot do anything to buy our way to heaven. Jesus died and paid for all of our sins with His sinless sacrifice on the cross. God raised Him from the dead and by faith in Jesus we can have the debt of our sin cancelled. Jesus Christ paid a debt that we owed with His own life.

worship god for his good works
Naaman was sick with a skin problem of leprosy. His disease went away when he trusted God's instruction from Elisha and washed in the river. All people are dead in a sin problem. We need a Healer. When we trust Jesus as Lord and Savior, God forgives our sin and heals us. God's gift of healing and forgiveness is absolutely free and we can do nothing to earn it. Naaman's gift of healing changed his life in gratitude as our gift of salvation changes our lives out of gratitude. Jesus heals us from our sin.

worship god because his ways are best
God displayed His mercy and grace by forgiving the people of Nineveh when they repented of their sin. God would show His love to the rest of the world by sending His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross. God saves those who trust and repent of their sin. God forgives people when they are sorry and ask forgiveness.

2 chronicles 34-35
Josiah led the Israelites to obey the Word of God. Josiah had great respect for God’s law. He allowed God’s Word to control what he did as a king. Josiah wanted God’s people to love God and obey the law too. When Jesus came to the earth, He respected the law, loved it, and fulfilled the law by obeying it perfectly.

Praise god for his purpose in our lives
Mordecai told the messenger to reply to Esther, “Don’t think that you will escape the fate of all the Jews because you are in the king’s palace. 14 If you keep silent at this time, liberation and deliverance will come to the Jewish people from another place, but you and your father’s house will be destroyed. Who knows, perhaps you have come to your royal position for such a time as this.”
God uses ordinary people to carry out His plans: Esther spoke to the king for her people in the same way that Jesus speaks to God for us. Haman tried to kill Mordecai, but God was in control and Haman died instead. Likewise, Satan thought he has won when Jesus died on the cross, but God raised Jesus from the dead and defeated Satan once and for all. |

praise god is with us in hard times

Job’s suffering and his request for a mediator give us a glimpse of our Savior, Jesus. Neither Job nor Jesus experienced suffering because they had sinned. Unlike Job, Jesus never questioned why He had to suffer. Jesus understood that we needed Him to pay the price for our sin and be our mediator before God.

praise god for giving eternal life through Jesus christ
|
Jesus said, “Unless someone is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
"Whatever is born of the Spirit is spirit... The wind blows where it pleases, and you hear its sound, but you don’t know where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit." Everyone who believes in Him will have eternal life. For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world that He might condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him." Without Jesus, we are spiritually dead. Sin separates us from God. When God graciously gives people the Holy Spirit, they are "born again" -- they receive new life and become God's children. Jesus offers new life to those who trust in Him for salvation. |
praise god for Jesus is risen
The crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus is the center of the gospel. We deserve to die because of our sin, but Jesus died in our place. He was the blood sacrifice made once and for all of rate forgiveness of sin. God was pleased with Jesus' sacrifice and raise Jesus from the dead to reign as king over all creation. We are forgiven only through Jesus. The angel said that Jesus had risen, just as He said He would.
Jesus appears to two disciples on the road to Emmaus. The Bible is all about Jesus. All of the Old Testament points forward to Jesus' life, death, and resurrect when Jesus would bring God's promised salvation for sinners. After the two disciples realized that it had been Jesus talking to them, they immediately went back to Jerusalem to tell the others. Jesus appeared to the disciples who had run away from Him just days before. Jesus can offer peace because of His death in their place. Those who believe without seeing are blessed. The good news is about what Jesus has done to rescue our sins. Jesus wants His followers to teach people everywhere about the good news of Jesus so they will trust in Him as their Lord and Savior. |
(matthew 28:16-20; acts 1:1-11; 2:1-41)The good news about what Jesus has done to rescue us from our sins is too great to keep to ourselves. Before Jesus went back to heaven, He gave the disciples a job to do. Jesus wants His followers to teach people everywhere about Jesus so they will trust in Him as their Lord and Savior.
Jesus left earth and returned to heaven, but He did not leave us alone. Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit to be with us and help us do God's work. One day Jesus will return to make all things new and to rule as Lord over all. Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit. The coming of the Holy Spirit meant Jesus' disciples could begin their work to share the gospel with the entire world. God gives the Holy Spirit to those who trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior. The Holy Spirit gives us power to to do God's work, and He changes us to be more like Jesus. Peter told the people that they could be saved. People should confess their sins and turn away from them. Then they should be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins. |
