praise jesus and his power over creation (Matthew 8:23-27; Mark 4:35-41)23 As He got into the boat, His disciples followed Him. 24 Suddenly, a violent storm arose on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves. But He was sleeping. 25 So the disciples came and woke Him up, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to die!”
26 But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, you of little faith?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea. And there was a great calm. 27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this?—even the winds and the sea obey Him!” When Jesus calmed the wind and the waves, He showed His disciples that He is also God. God has power to rule over the wind and the waves and all of creation. |
My god is so great, so strong and so mighty |
thank jesus for his providence

thank jesus for being the way to god

praise god the loving father
(Luke 15) parable of the two sons
|
But while the son was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion. He ran, threw his arms around his neck, and kissed him.
“But the father told his slaves, ‘Quick! Bring out the best robe and put it on him; put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. 23 Then bring the fattened calf and slaughter it, and let’s celebrate with a feast, 24 because this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found!’ “‘Son,’ he said to him, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours.32 But we had to celebrate and rejoice, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’” Jesus told these parables to teach about Himself. As Savior Jesus seeks sinners and paid the ultimate price -- His own life -- to save us. Jesus searches for sinners who are lost, so that He can save them. |
thank God for being generous
For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard.
The landowner paid the last men the same amount as the first because the landowner was generous. Jesus' parable teaches about God's grace. God is very generous and loving. Even though we deserve to die for our sins, God gives us what we don't deserve -- salvation through His Son Jesus. |

praise jesus as king,
|
remember jesus and thank himGod loves people. In the Old Testament, God made a covenant with His people. He gave them commandments to follow so they could live in right relationship with Him. God's people broke the covenant. They didn't obey God, and they didn't love Him. Jesus made a new covenant by dying on the cross. He brought forgiveness and made the way for people to know and love God again.
Jesus gave the bread to His disciples and told them to eat it in remembrance of Him. |

jesus prays at the garden of gethsemane (Luke 22:39-46)Jesus went with his disciples to pray at Gethsemane at the Mount of Olives. He said to his disciples, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death; remain here, and watch with me. Pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak”
Jesus knelt down and prayed, saying, “Father, all things are possible for you. If you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.” And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him. And being in agony he prayed more earnestly, "Your will be done." |

the empty tomb (john 20:1-18)Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb.
But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb, and as she wept she stooped to look into the tomb. And she saw two angels in white, sitting where the body of Jesus had lain, one at the head and one at the feet. Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned and said, "Teacher!" She turned around and saw Jesus standing, but she did not know that it was Jesus. Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord”—and that he had said these things to her. |

Jesus appears to the disciples (John 20)Jesus appeared to the disciples who had run away from Him just days before. Jesus can offer peace because of His death in their place. Those who believe without seeing are blessed.
The good news is about what Jesus has done to rescue our sins. Jesus wants His followers to teach people everywhere about the good news of Jesus so they will trust in Him as their Lord and Savior. |
Jesus ascended to heaven
|
After Easter Sunday, Jesus was on the earth for 40 more days. He gave His Disciples a new job. After 40 days, Jesus went up into heaven. One day Jesus will come back!
28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. The good news about what Jesus has done to rescue us from our sins is too great to keep to ourselves. Before Jesus went back to heaven, He gave the disciples a job to do. Jesus wants His followers to teach people everywhere about Jesus so they will trust in Him as their Lord and Savior. 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses. Jesus left earth and returned to heaven, but He did not leave us alone. Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit to be with us and help us do God's work. One day Jesus will return to make all things new and to rule as Lord over all. |
