2 John
In case you didn't notice, 2 John is a REALLY short letter, and so is 3 John and Jude. We're speeding toward Revelation in just a few days. Because it's so short, just a few short comments.
This book warns about the same or similar false teaching that 1 John did, but is written to "the elect lady and her children". This could perhaps mean a particular family, but the most common held view on this is that it's written to a local congregation. Ultimately the content matters more than who it's addressed to in any case. This treatment of false teaching brings the idea of fellowship into things: fellowship is important, and we should bond with those that seek and know the truth, not those that spread evil. Only with people that share your belief can you find true fellowship in the deepest sense of the word. Does this mean we shouldn't have any friends that believe differently? No. But be careful about who you let into your heart.
